Happiness is cross stitching blog

My latest cross stitching

Christmas tree cross stitch pattern

In this post I show my latest cross stitching and other finishes together with a beaded needle threader and some Zentangle drawings I have been practising!

The photo above is my latest finishing of a new pattern I designed for Christmas in my Etsy shop. It is a quick stitch, I managed to complete both designs in two evenings and that included the finishing.

The finishing tutorial is available at this blog post. It is for a halloween ornament but the steps are pretty much the same. I hand stitched the red trim on this one, it was so much easier than using fabric glue.

Additional gift I sent to winner of giveaway

This is a photo of the additional stitching I completed for the winner of the last giveaway. She loved it!

I designed and stitched the little pillow and scissor fob, one for the winner and one for me. I used DMC threads and Aida fabric with Mill Hill beads. You can see a tutorial for beading at this post here, or see my You Tube video showing the technique.

Cross stitch pillow and scissor fobs with pretty pink and green flowers and pink beads around the edge.

Needle Threader Bling!

Oooooo I so enjoyed making these! Available in my Etsy shop. Gorgeous lamp work beads with a pretty diamanté trim on the bottom.

Needle threaders for cross stitch or any sewing project. Beautiful lamp beads, crystal trim beads.

Work in progress

My latest work in progress is one of my favourite pieces, it is by Stitches Through The Years and the pattern is Strawberry Harvest. I particularly love the colours in the pattern.

A type of Zentangle

I found this great YouTube video showing how to do the techniques of Zentangle, I love it!

Her name is Kelly and she does some amazing tutorials on the subject. I have started watching a series showing how to make a small book with different drawings inside.

This is one of the first ones I did, but decided to draw it digitally in Procreate as it was easier, if I made a mistake I could just delete the layer.

I coloured it in with water coloured brushes in Procreate.

If you are not familiar with Procreate it is a digital drawing app that can be purchased from the App Store.

Until next time, happy stitching!
