Stitching news

My latest finish is a gorgeous design I purchased from Ali Express in China and I love it! I only started stitching this three weeks ago and managed to finish it this week. It was a quick stitch on 14 count aida, the fabric holes were a bit tight so I had to use a thimble to push the threads through the holes but the price of this kit was amazing! It only cost just under $6 for the kit including fabric, threads and needles.
Now there must be a catch right? How do you get a full kit for that price?

Well, here are the downsides, the needles were not really strong enough or the correct size and the aida fabric was ok but I could see and feel the difference between a good quality Aida and a cheap one, the same goes for the threads, they were not dmc threads but the colours were a perfect match to dmc, they were a bit finer and clearly not as good but they were ok.
They had missed including two colours, I emailed them but did not receive a reply, however, I just used the dmc equivalent and it looked fine.
I was really stitching this out of curiosity, I was tempted to change the threads and use dmc but I thought no I will stitch it and see what the finished result looks like, and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised, I am sure you will agree!

Special cross stitch frames from Stitch Life Studio on Etsy

A few months ago I was contacted by a lady who owns a lovely Etsy shop, she asked me if I would show some of her cross stitch frames to my readers, when I saw them I immediately said yes as they are simply gorgeous! Kacee very kindly sent me two frames to review and also included a very pretty needleminder in the parcel.

I show photos below and would encourage you to pop over to see the gorgeous frames that she makes as they are quite unique and very easy to frame if you like stitching in hoops.

Kacees’s Etsy shop is here called Stitch Life Studio

I will be using one of Kacee’s frames in one of my future projects so that I can show how pretty they look.

The colours are amazing!

Your stitchery turned out beautiful. I am always leery about ordering from China. Thanks for the free Halloween pattern. Kacee's frames are wonderful. I really love the round frame with scalloped edging. I am glad you are finding some time to stitch – always so much fun to see your projects.

Your stitches are always so perfect. Even though the threads were not DMC, they appear to have given perfect coverage. I think it looks awesome. Love your lovely designs, too.
Wishing you a great day. 🙂

Beautiful work you did. Those Kacee frames are so cute. Will be so easy to use also. They would be great for holiday stitching, easy to switch out.

Hi Lynn, Your finished stitching is so nice and after what you mention about the quality it has turned out really good. I have been looking at the website it looks quite good and so much to choose from. I love the wooden frames they do look beautiful but the postage price is quite high for me being in the UK.
Thank you for the pattern Lynn.
    best wishes
