Advent Calendar Freebie from Brooke Nolans cross stitch designs

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and doing lots of stitching.
I have started stitching an advent calendar pattern that I have had in my stash for a few years now, they are designed by the very talented Brook Nolan from Brookes Books cross stitch designs and I love them all!

Brooke has many beautiful patterns available to purchase but she also offers lots of freebies too, the advent calendar patterns can be found here on her website.

I have also purchased the Alice in Wonderland series, they are so colourful and very pretty and I can't wait to start them too, but there are not enough hours in the day! You can see Brookes Etsy shop here

It only took me a couple of evenings to stitch Katie Kitty, I used dmc stranded cotton threads, 2 over 2 on 28 count jobelan linen in the Babbling Brook colourway as suggested in the pattern, the colours really pop on this background, I would use my preferred  method of using 3 threads over 2 next time, I usually do that on a 14 count/28 count fabric as I think it gives a better coverage but I just forgot to use 3 threads instead of 2.

The next design is Peter Polar Bear, he is ever so cute, I have the fabric ready to start.

Here is a close up of Katie Kitty.

Until next time, Happy Stitching!

She looks great! I think two threads looks just fine. Every time I see this I think I need to stitch them, maybe this will be the year?!

Hi Lynn: The free designs from Brook are so cute and sweet.
I have not stitched the Advent calendar but hope to soon.
Two threads work for me, the two worked for you, sometimes I think three threads are way too many.
