Cross stitching, a new shawl and an award!

Hi everyone, I have started a new cross stitch this week and caught up with stitching mini cats from my calendar patterns.

I love Country Cottage Needleworks, in particular this pretty pattern that I have had in my stash for quite some time now, I started this a couple of days ago and can't seem to put it down!

Don't you just love the colours? I know I do.

Liberty Love by Country Cottage Needleworks

There is quite a bit of white in this design but I am stitching that  last to make sure it stays as clean as possible.

I have also been stitching the mini cats for May and June but I have not had chance to finish those yet, but here they are for you to see the colours of the fabric I will be using.
The purple at the front will be for July, I am hoping to design that over the next couple of days and get that posted on my blog for  next Friday on the 9th June.

You can get the free patterns from my blog here

A blog award

I was pleased to receive an email this week informing me that I am one of the top cross stitch blogs in the UK at number three, thankyou so much everyone for this honour, I am thrilled!

Apparently you are chosen for the following criteria:

Google reputation and Google search ranking
Quality and consistency of posts
Feedspots editorial team and expert review.

You can read all about the top ten blogs here

Mmmm not so sure about consistency of posting recently as I have been a bit busy but I aim to get back into posting more frequently when I get my craft room sorted, it is still a mess at the moment because we have not had time to decorate it, but watch this space!

LABELS FROM THE DUTCH LABEL SHOP

I was also pleased to be asked to review some labels from the Dutch Label Shop and I must say I really love these! They are of good quality and I highly recommend them. There are lots of labels to choose from, some are iron-on and some are for stitching onto your projects, they also offer hang tags, care labels and size labels.

In a future post I will be offering a discount code from my blog for any order placed with the Dutch Label Shop so keep a look out for that, in the meantime you can check out their website here

I have been busy adding a few extra charms and bag pins into my Etsy shop, I love these sewing themed pins, they are so cute!

A shawl finish

Last but not least I finished this shawl, yay!!!

I talk about this shawl in my previous post here where you can get the details of the pattern if you wish.

This shawl is a delight to wear, it feels so soft as it is made from Alpaca.

Until next time, happy stitching!

Hi Lynn! Congratulations on the award! Well deserved I believe! I'm in the process of stitching June of the 2018 Mini Cat Calendar series - got a big behind with having to make 3 small projects/ornaments as gifts for the month of May. Lynn, I can't seem to find the polka-dot fabric you are using for finishing - especially not the color for January, that electric blue. Would you be able to share a source for the polka-dot fabric? Looking forward to the July chart soon! ~Barbara

Congratulations on your well-deserved award! I love your blog. The CCN design is gorgeous, I love designs like this that can be broken down into little sections to stitch. So pretty. And your shawl is stunning.
