April mini cat calendar and more stitching

Hi everyone, its been a while since I last posted but I have been doing a bit of stitching and finally managed to finish one of my mini cat patterns into an ornament.
The free pattern will be available on my blog in my next freebie friday post.
I love the colour of this fabric, I managed to purchase lots of the same print in different colours, they will be used in all of the finishing for the calendar cats.

Ornament finishing

I ironed some lightweight interfacing onto the reverse of the cross stitch and then mounted the cross stitch onto a piece of card measuring just over five inches square with wadding over the card and laced it on the reverse, I then cut another piece of card measuring six inches square and covered that with fabric and glued it on the reverse side. The cord is white dmc stranded cotton thread twisted into cord and glued around the edge, the top bow has a little swarovski crystal glued to the top.

I did make a mistake in the finishing, I intended to cut the card so that the flowers and leaves along the top lined up with the edge but failed to notice until I had finished it, but I am pleased with it anyway!

Here are the other designs all ready to finish into ornaments.

I stitched the April design onto pale blue fabric, unfortunately I did not have any grey fabric remaining but I have ordered more.

I have also been stitching the February design from Hands on Design monthly series from the Fat Quarter shop. I still need to complete the finishing on a few of the pillows and then I have one more to stitch in March and  then I will have completed all twelve designs, yay!!!

I have still been stitching the Christmas series Twelve Days of Christmas by Sue Hillis Designs, again they are not completed yet, I still don't have my craft room organised yet, it is the next large job we will be starting in the next month or so. The walls need painting and a new floor will be laid and then we can get on with the work surfaces, so watch this space as I will be posting photos eventually.

This is the main reason why I have not been completing much in the way of finishing, however, we have just finished the office space so now I have some work surface to spread out a bit!

A little back stitch to complete on Lords a Leaping and then just one more pattern to stitch and hopefully get them finished into beaded ornaments.

I started stitching another Country Cottage Needlework pattern "Sunflowers in Summer" and I love it, I am just waiting for some speciality threads to arrive and then I can complete it.

That is all the stitching I have been doing, if you do not wish to see my Etsy shop update then I will catch up in my next post, until next time
Happy Stitching!
