I have been doing a bit of stitching on the April cat cross stitch pattern and finally managed to finish it into an ornament.
I love the colour of this fabric, I managed to purchase lots of the same print in different colours. They will be used in all of the finishing for the calendar cats.
You can find all the links to each of the calendar patterns from January to December in this post here.
Ornament finishing
To finish the April cat cross stitch I ironed some lightweight interfacing onto the reverse of the cross stitch. The cross stitch was mounted onto a piece of card measuring just over five inches square with wadding over the card and laced it on the reverse.
Another piece of card was cut measuring six inches square and was covered with fabric and glued on the reverse side.
The cord is white dmc stranded cotton thread twisted into cord and glued around the edge, the top bow has a little swarovski crystal glued to the top.
I did make a mistake in the finishing, I intended to cut the card so that the flowers and leaves along the top lined up with the edge but failed to notice until I had finished it, but I am pleased with it anyway!

Here are the other designs all ready to finish into ornaments.
The April design was stitched onto pale blue fabric, unfortunately, I did not have any grey fabric remaining but I have ordered more.

Hands on Design Calendar Series Pillows
The stitching for the February Hands on Design monthly series from the Fat Quarter shop is coming along nicely.
Not all of the pillows are completed yet, I just have one more to stitch in March and then I will have completed all twelve designs, yay!!!

I have still been stitching the Christmas series Twelve Days of Christmas by Sue Hillis Designs, again they are not completed yet.
We have just finished the office space so now I have some work surface to spread out a bit!

A little back stitch to complete on Lords a Leaping and then just one more pattern to stitch and hopefully get them finished into beaded ornaments.

I started stitching another Country Cottage Needlework pattern “Sunflowers in Summer” and I love it, I am just waiting for some speciality threads to arrive and then I can complete it.

Happy Stitching!
Small wood needle case available in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for looking!
Best Wishes and Happy Stitching.

Lovely Kitty finishes and your Christmas projects are adorable. Those CCN Sunflowers are so calling me to stitch now that I see yours. Mira's chart are stunning.
You've been very busy, Lynn! I love your April finish….that blue is perfect for the design!
Your craft room renovations sound exciting, how wonderful to have your craft room just the way you want it. Hope it all goes to plan.
Hi Lynn, Your black cat finishes look lovely as ornaments, I bought different fabric for my cats I was using cream 18 count aida and you were right it looks better on a slightly darker background so I started again using 16 count blue grey aida.
I hope you get your new craft room sorted soon that will be better for you, thank you again Lynn bye for now.
