Happy New Year!
Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year, we had a quiet time in our home in France snuggled by the log fire, which we love.
I don't know what it is about Christmas but I always like to start a Christmas gift for someone for the following year, in this case it was this lovely "Quilt Time Sampler" from Little House Needleworks. I started stitching it on Christmas Day and finished it on New Years Day, well actually I could have finished it on 31st December but I left a couple of stitches so that I could finish it in 2018 and sign the new year as the date of finishing.
This was also a quick stitch, I will be getting this framed in February in England and then I will put it away for the recipient for their Christmas gift for Christmas 2018. (more photos below)
Stitching News
I have decided to design another Mini Cat Calendar for 2018, all of the patterns will be free on my blog and the full pdf with colour listings will again be available in my Craftsy store here
I have just finished stitching January but not sure how I am going to finish this one, maybe a flat fold or a small pillow? You can see the photo below, the pattern will be free on my blog next week, each design will be published no later than the first week of each month.
Knitting news
I started to knit a lovely small cabled cowl using a free pattern from Ravelry, it was so easy, only one row of cables in this one, but very effective! You can see the free pattern here
(Photo below) I am loving the colour of this, it will compliment my navy coat quite well and I am thinking of making some matching gloves in the same yarn.
Hands on Design cross stitch pattern monthly series available from the Fat Quarter Shop.
I am a little slow getting my pillows finished for the monthly series but I am on with December now and soon January's design will be arriving through my letterbox!
Just need to stitch these cute buttons onto the front and then I can make it into a pillow.
Until next time, happy stitching!

Your HOD "November" is adorable and I can't wait to see it finished, along with December...I adore the buttons.
The cabled cowl is beautiful, and looks like a lot of hard work...the color is yummy! I agree that gloves would be a great idea.

Happy New Year Lyn,
What a beautiful thought, you spending Christmas in France snuggled by the fire. We had a heatwave here in NZ and I worked through Christmas / New Year so was a bit of a Grinch really. Didn't feel at all Christmasy but I vow it will be different this year.
Love your LHN cross stitch and boy you did it so quickly. The cowl that you knitted is fabulous and looks so snuggly and warm.

Hi Lynn, Happy New Year to you too!
You made me smile with waiting some cross-stitches till 2018 😁.
I love the idea of the new Catcalender but I have to pass: every time I try to cross-stitch I have thumbproblems. Not nice and with my big Dear Jane in mind I focus to that... But ofcourse I am looking forward to see the new minicats. I love the Januaryone, what a cute cat!
By the way: do you know the podcasts of The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch? Oh those finishes: I love them.
Your shawl is a beauty and with the cold weather it must be a joy to weare.
Have a nice and healthy 2018!
Greetings again
Happy New Year.

Yay, another Mini Cat series! I think I have saved all of the ones you've offered haha.
Love the knitted cowl, and thank you for the link, too. :) It's always fun to knit...a girl can't live by cross stitching alone..well not this one any who. I am looking forward to your new designs in 2018. Happy New Year. :)
