A gift, cross stitch, crochet, knitting and Craft Awards.

Hi everyone, phew its been a while! I have not been doing much sewing or cross stitching lately and I am woefully behind on my monthly pillows that I am making for the Hands On Design cross stitch patterns that I receive monthly from the Fat Quarter Shop, but I am hoping to get the September and October pillow finished before the month is over.

Its funny isn't it how we change around our crafts when we are not in the mood and then we return to them with renewed enthusiasm, so hopefully the cross stitch will be making a reappearance this evening.

Whilst I am on the subject of cross stitch, I would like to say a huge thankyou to all of the people who nominated my blog again for the Cross Stitch Blog of the year in the British Craft Awards 2018, I was so thrilled to hear I had been nominated again, it is really appreciated that you take the time to do that, so thankyou!

I will put the links at the bottom of this post so that you can go and vote for your favourite nominees, I am amongst many other cross stitchers that are so deserving of this award.

A gift

You know how I love putting little gifts together, well during the summer I made another of the Autumn Shawls that I love to make, it only takes a few days of knitting so in knitting terms that is rather a quick knit. I knew this person loved Autumn colours so that is what I went with.
The bag is really pretty, I chose this to match light coloured trousers and thought this would be the perfect accessory.
I love the Modalu bag, they are one of my favourite designers, it is so beautifully made and goes with almost anything.

As you can see from this post  I have been in a knitting and crochet mood, the next shawl I made was another Autumn coloured shawl that I started last week, I was inspired to pick up my needles when I noticed one of my trees in my garden showing the full colours of Autumn, however it is a gorgeous sunny day today and I am pleased to report in France it is currently 23 degrees and full sun, Yay!!!

The pattern is available on Ravelry, this is only the second lace shawl I have ever knit, I would highly recommend the pattern as it is really easy to make.

I used the yarn in the right of this photo, I purchased this from Kathryn at Crafternoon Treats on my recent visit to Yarndale 2017  In Skipton in the UK.

Here is another little crochet pillow I made using Drops Nepal yarn, I love the cute Hand Made with Love buttons, I got those from ebay at a very reasonable price.

I made nine simple granny squares and followed a tutorial for the Join as you Go method from Heather at The Patchwork Heart blog to join all the squares together.

I have quite a few finished crochet pillows to show but I will leave them for another post.

Etsy shop news

I haven't been doing any sewing for my Etsy shop but I will be doing soon as I have some gorgeous new fabric all ready to sew.  I have also been putting together some new cute stitch marker and progress keeper sets, I can now do custom orders for stitch markers, so if you like various charms in my shop just let me know and I can put together a selection for you.

I have also ordered some more embroidery scissors that will be arriving soon and a few more cross stitch patterns.

And ofcourse I have voted right away! *Ü*

You have been busy and allthough I saw some pictures on IG it is always nice to see them here on a bigger screen.
Wow 23 degrees, you lucky woman! Here in Holland we had 15 degrees today. Not very bad but no sun and grey skies. Luckely I had a lot to do inside *Ü*
Greetings again.

So glad to see a post from you - I was getting worried about you! Such beautiful work - love the autumn shawl and granny pillows. Your work is always so inspiring. I cast my vote - at first thought they were going to knock me out because I do not live in the UK but then it did not. Best of luck - you deserve many an award!
