Hi everyone, here she is!!!! Ooooo I do love this cross stitch pattern!!!
I made her into a nice sized project bag, it measures 11" tall by 11.5" wide, at first I was going to make it into a small project bag for sock knitting but decided to make the larger bag as it showed off the cross stitch piece better. It is lined with thick wadding which really makes the bag nice and sturdy so that it easily stands on its own and I lined the inside with cream fabric and attached a faux leather label on the outside.
You can find the patterns for the Harry Potter cross stitch at this site here
I also made a matching pouch for notions and scissors in the owl fabric with a small Gryffindor cross stitch crest on the reverse side. You can find the small free cross stitch designs from this site here
If you did not see the Harry Potter cross stitch bag I made you can check it out at this post here
I will certainly be making these bags for my Etsy shop but without the cross stitch as this is far too labour intensive and also the copyright for the cross stitch design belongs to someone else, but I think this is my favourite bag so far.
Winner of small giveaway
Winner announced for the scissor pouch giveaway is at the bottom of this post.
Again quite a few people send me emails but I cannot reply because you are a no reply blogger, if I have not answered your request that is the reason. I am always happy to answer queries about patterns, quite a few asked about the blackwork pouch, I don't have a tutorial for the making of the pouch as I designed it as I went along but there all lots of pouch tutorials and blackwork patterns on pinterest.
I ironed on some interfacing for the reverse side of the Gryffindor cross stitch crest, folded over the edges and blanket stitched it to the fabric with dmc matching thread. The pouch is interfaced and lined and finished with a pretty red zipper.
Now for the winner of my small scissor pouch giveaway..........
I decided to make another of my bee scissor pouches for the winner.
I put all the entries into a hat and picked a name out.
This is what Cheryl said in her comment..........
Hi Lynn, Of course I like everything, but since I especially love all things Paris, my favorite is the Paris bag, since I've already stitched the Afternoon in Paris chart. 😊 Thanks for the chance.
Cheryl please send me an email with your address and I will send the pouch to you.
Congratulations!
Until next time, happy stitching!

Lynn, the bag is fabulous..and I can certainly see the labor involved! The scissor bag with bee fabric is adorable lucky winner to be receiving that❤️...Blessings
Congrats to Cheryl - I know she will enjoy her scissors pouch. Lynn - you really out did yourself with the owl bag - I love the cross stitch and, of course, the owls are a favorite of mine!!
Oh my, that pouch is adorable!
Can I please ask you where you got that owl fabric from? I keep seeing it all over the internet but it does not seem to be for sale anywhere. I guess it can only be bought in Europe.
Thank you,
Maria
Beautiful bags and congrats to the winner.

Hi Lynn - I received the bee scissor pouch and just love it! It's big enough, and well made enough, to hold several small items like my nice scissors, my snippet scissors, a few threads, etc. Thanks so much!
(Sorry to be so late in posting, but life interfered for a while.)
Hugs & stitches,
Cheryl W
