I am in a sewing mood this week, project bags are at the top of my list as I have many projects that I could use them for. I made this Paris themed bag (photos below) out of some scraps of fabric I had left from making the crochet cover back in my last post, I just managed to squeeze two little bags from the fabric, I did not have enough fabric to fussy cut and place the design perfectly but I liked the result.
The larger bag is interfaced with lightweight interfacing, it is a very soft and floppy bag that can easily be folded, I wanted this to fit in my weekend case when I fly back to England. It currently has my Spring cross stitch pattern and threads and fabric inside, which is my latest work in progress, but it can easily be used as a sock knitting project bag too.
I am using different linings and interfacings just to see what the results are, my favourite so far has to be the fusible wadding, I used this in the medium sized pouch which I will be using for my sewing needles and small scissors.
I also used the fusible wadding in the cupcake bag here.
It gives a much nicer sturdy finish to your project but if you want a thinner bag to fit in your suitcase then the one below is a better option.
The tiny key holder was a quick stitch, I found this tutorial on Sew So Easy you can see a video tutorial and download the pattern for free, there are lots of great ideas on this website.
If you wish to make the project bags there are lots of helpful tutorials on Pinterest, I also found this one that has photos showing each stage.
Measurements of each bag........
Larger pouch 8 inches wide 9 inches tall
Medium needle pouch 6 inches wide by 5 inches tall
Cupcake key holder and coin purse 3 inches x 2 inches.
I fell in love with this beautiful hand dyed yarn and simply had to get some, I have no idea what I am going to make with it yet but the colour is scrumptious!

Thanks for the link to the cow design. You've made some lovely project bags. Your wool is a beautiful colour. Did you know that 'Yan, tan tethera' is old Lincolnshire for 'one, two, three'?
