British Craft Awards 2017 and stitching news

Hi everyone, I have always been a Prairie Schooler fan, I just love the cute designs, this one was a quick stitch that I took with me on the flight to England last week, the little pouch for the threads and scissors came in really handy. I am not sure how I am going to finish this yet but I am pleased with how it looks.
British Craft Awards 2017

I went to the British Craft Awards last week, I had a fabulous time but I cannot announce the winner as I think I should allow the winner to do that herself, suffice to say it was no surprise as she is a very talented stitcher.

I met Ruth the editor  from the World of Cross Stitching Magazine which was one of the highlights of the evening for me, it was funny because I said "oh you may not remember me but I am Lynn from Happiness is Cross Stitching blog" and she laughed and said "of course I do, we read your blog in the office"! Well that was a nice moment for me, its kinda funny when the blog world becomes reality, it is a bit surreal too because I was seeing faces that I had only ever seen on the internet and you feel like you know them very well, when in fact you have only read their blogs.
I saw lots of faces I "knew" but was a bit too shy to approach them, maybe if I ever get chance to attend again I will be brave!  Lol......

Thankyou for voting for me, I got the chance to see lots of "famous faces" and it was a real treat, and I could not have been there without your kind votes, it was an honour to be there.

Stitching news

I have made another project bag and I can also show you a couple of gifts that I made.

I have had this fabric in my stash for a long time but it was perfect for my latest project bag.

This is my favorite side of the bag

I delivered this gift last week, the recipient loved it!

My sister lived in North Carolina for a few years,  so I decided to make her this cross stitch for Christmas, it was a real quick stitch, you can purchase this pattern and many other maps  here in England, it is by one of my favourite designers,  Sue Hillis designs.

I also stitched the address under North Carolina but erased it for the blog post

I finished stitching the free Spring design, hopefully I should get time to do the Winter design for next Freebie Friday.
I can be found on Pinterest here and on Ravelry and Instagram as stitchingfairy.

Until next time, happy stitching!

Dear Lynn,
I am sorry you didn't win the British Craft Award, but for me you are the winner!
Thank you so much for your beautiful blog, your lovely patterns and the inspiration you bring me.
It must have been great to mingle with all the famous bloggers and others. How nice to read that you were recognized! (Sorry don't know how to write that...the same counts for 'mingle' *Ăś*)
You have beautiful presents in this blogmessage, but the projectbag is the most of all: what a great fabric you have used!!
Greetings again

I am glad you enjoyed the awards show. I couldn't make it because I don't drive it would have involved an over night stay. It would have been so much fun to see everyone and put faces to names.
I haven't heard who won the blog category so I'm guessing it wasn't me. No-one has delivered a cut glass trophy either!
Do you know how we find the results out? I thought they would at least email me to let me know.

I just love your sweet stitching, Lynn! The little girl covering herself and her dog from the rain is adorable! And what a great bag--I can see why you fell in love with that fabric--how sweet. I didn't know your sister lived here in the States! We vacation each summer in North Carolina for a week--it is about a 10 hour drive for us. I look forward to seeing your winter Freebie--I'm sure it will be a cutie :)

Hope you have a wonderful month ahead--can hardly believe February is almost over!
