Hi everyone, here is the Jardin Prive sheep design finished into a project bag, I think I will be making many of these in various sizes!
My first pair of socks
Recently I have been watching knitting videos on You Tube and was intrigued that sock knitting was the thing that everyone seemed to be doing, there were so many gorgeous designs of socks I thought I would give them a try. I have never knit socks before so I needed to buy the needles and yarn to get started, I chose the yarn and found a tutorial on the internet, but I really struggled, I must have pulled them back about five times! I chose to knit them on circular needles, which I have never used before, but once I got started I did manage to finish one sock.
I am happy to say I don't suffer from second sock syndrome, apparently many people only knit one sock and never knit the second one! Lol.... I was excited to start the second sock so that I could knit another pair soon. If you have never tried to knit socks, why not have a go? Trust me, it is addictive! Lol....

Project bag for socks
Until now I have just used a plastic bag to store my projects, however, after seeing all of the gorgeous project bags on line I decided to finish the Jardin Prive sheep design into a sock knitting project bag. I made it into a tall, narrow bag which fits 2 x 50g balls of yarn and the needles to make a pair of socks, I made a little pocket on the inside to store the needles.
I can see myself making lots of project bags for myself and for gifts as I love making them.
I cross stitched the love heart onto Mill Hill perforated paper.
This is the start of my first sock
This is the second sock, I have just pulled it back again! Lol....
Hopefully will finish it this next week!
This is the yarn I used, it was not very expensive, but for my first pair of socks I thought it was best to buy a cheaper yarn.
I decided to start a mitred square sock blanket using the spare yarn, I had no clue how to do this, but again I followed a You Tube video from one of my favourite knitting websites,
Until next time, happy stitching!

Good job, you have learned it youself! (Where would we be without internet...and with cold feet :-)
I recognize the yarn you are knitting with. I have used it (and partly with the same color) for my colored cardigan

Greetings again
I am in love with your knitting bag. It's just so sweet. You are so multi talented!
Ahhh socks. I know the first time I made a sock, I thought the pattern was written wrong when it came to doing the heal. Then once I just sat down and followed the directions, I suddenly felt like Einstein when the heal was turned! :)
Wishing you a lovely day filled with much joy.
Nicely done! I am working on a two skein Linen stitch cowl and have been thinking about this the entire time I have been knitting on the project. Now, I will need to get on it and make one.
Tanks for the inspiration!

I started a sock months back and never finished it. I do still have it though and the beautiful book of directions and patterns that I purchased. Hopefully, after the holidays, I'll get back to the socks. I love all the yarns that are out there now for them. You did a great job on yours, and I agree with your other followers as for the project bag goes. I love it.

Thank you Lynn for all your kindness in giving we your followers, such gorgeous free cross stitch patterns. Two questions please:
1. what is the best paper (printer friendly) to use for your little cross stitch bags; and
2. do you have a pattern link to the stunning knitting bag you made?
Thank you again. I have to confess to spending nearly all day today on YOUR blogs!!!!! (I have a nasty cold .... so you have been my medication :) :) :))
