Christmas stitching, Laduree and Craft Room news.

Hi everyone, glad you liked the Paris fashion show in the previous post!
This week I have been doing a little Christmas stitching, A Partridge in a Pear Tree and Two Turtle Doves.
The Partride in a Pear Tree design is from a second hand book that I purchased very cheaply on Amazon recently, I particularly liked the colours in this so that is why I wanted to stitch it.

At the time of writing this post the book was still available, it is Sam Hawkins 520 Christmas Cross Stitch Designs and you can get it here for 1p plus postage!

I am also stitching The Twelve Days of Christmas by Sue Hillis Designs, this Two Turtle Doves matches a different  Partridge in a Pear Tree that I showed  here in a previous post I was hoping to get all twelve finished for Christmas but I don't think that will happen now.

Laduree in Paris

I forgot to mention  I visited my favourite macaron patisserie, Laduree in Paris last week, I demolished the macarons pretty quickly but I thought I would show the lovely box they were presented in, I will certainly be using this box in one of my cross stitch finishes. (Photos below)

You can see lovely photos of Laduree on trip advisor here and when you see the photos you will want to go and taste these lovely cakes, if you can't get to Paris or any of their lovely shops around the world you can buy them over the internet from this gorgeous website here

Craft room news

Unfortunately I still have not organised my craft room yet since we moved to France, I am waiting to get some fitted wardrobes in our bedroom and once that is sorted I can start moving things around and getting my craft room organised. This means that I can only do pillow finishes because everything is in boxes and whilst it is all labelled and I know where things are it is still difficult to access everything.

My plan is not to have built in furniture as I had in my previous craft room but to do some painting of some of my pine furniture, I am thinking of a choice between pale grey or white and even painting one of the pieces pink!

This is a gift for someone this Christmas

I used the alphabet from Sue Hillis Twelve Days of Christmas Design

Work in progress

I love stitching beads onto ornaments, if you take your time and count carefully the result is really pretty!

I love these bags and boxes from Laduree, I have quite a stash now!

I store yarn in the bags

When I first arrived in France I could never find a shop that sold roses at a reasonable price and then I saw these beauties in Lidl, they were only 2 euros!

Until next time, happy stitching!

Such a lovely ornament and finished so beautifully!

Painted furniture really catches my eye these days. I especially like the grays (surprisingly even dark gray) ad turquoise with some wax over it. It's so striking and I hope you share your painted furniture here!

You are so organized Lynn - working on Christmas gifts in August. I say I am going to do that every year but my good intentions never seem to materialize. I especially love the partridge ornament. Beautiful roses - have you ever tried drying roses?

What a wonderful post - thank you for sharing with us. I'm going to check out the Sam Hawkins book - looks like something I could use.

Your ornament is beautiful! I wish I had not done built ins in my craft room and think you'll really enjoy the flexibility and display options that random pieces give you. Love painted furniture but hey, if you don't like a color, you can easily change it. Love the bags and boxes from Lauderee (sp?), too.
