Freebie Friday – Lavender Cross Stitch pattern and a revived pattern from 2010

Hi everyone, its Freebie Friday!

Once February arrives I always start to think of Spring and Summer and think about the flowers that will soon be in our gardens, so here is my first Summer design for you, a lovely lavender in a pot. I have designed French and English versions of course to celebrate being in France!

House keeping of my blog
Also this week I have been doing some housekeeping on my blog, going back and checking for any broken links, I found it to be quite a sad experience as many blogs that I have linked to are no longer available, some bloggers simply stopped writing posts. It was a bit like walking past a house that had pretty flowers on the porch and the next time I walked past it was all derelict and there were lots of cobwebs, I was left wondering what happened to the people that used to write such lovely posts and create such beautiful things for us all to see.
Whilst I was checking the links I decided to revive some of the designs, one of the patterns was for this little pin cushion and the needlebook in the photo below, if you would like a copy please email me with your email address and I will send it to you. I have placed a photo below to show you the stitches used, it is not for the beginner as it can be a bit fiddly to stitch. I was thinking of stitching this in a bright blue and yellow colour palette eventually, I think it would look lovely!
Edited: I stitched the needlebook on 25 Lugana fabric over 1 thread.
Stitching this week

I have finally finished Santa’s Village at last! I will post a photo in the next post.
My Time for Tea mini cat is also finished, I just need to decide what finishing I am going to do on it but I will show you the cross stitch finish in my next post too.
I cannot believe I stitched this in 2010, it was one of my first ever box finishes.

Best Wishes and Happy Stitching.

I know it dose seem sad about blogs that are not active for what ever reason, i have had some moments where i just need a break from blogging sometimes life takes over for a while then you come back refreshed.

Hello Lynn – such pretty little charts, you can almost smell the scent of lavender on a warm summers day…..
I love to visit your blog, it never fails to inspire me, and you are really generous to offer free charts, too.
    Have a lovely weekend!

Sad that some bloggers stop blogging for whatever reason. Your box finish is very pretty, and a big woohoo for finishing Santa's Village!

I love seeing one of your boxes again! Your box finishes as well as fimo clay pins, teapots, etc. are what first attracted me to your blog. Really pretty! Do you have any in the works? I, too, wonder where so many of the bloggers have gone. I miss them!

I know what you mean, it is sad. I cleaned out my feed reader not too long ago too. Cute lavender chart. I am the rare one, that does not like the smell of lavender. 😉
