Miss Mini Valentine, my roses, a tutorial, and winner of my scarf giveaway!

Hi everyone,  I have been stitching a little bit of Santa's Village which should soon be finished and I have just posted a mattress pincushion tutorial on my finishing blog here.
Before I start this weeks post ...........
Message for Eileen (Catwhisperer) you left me two lovely messages on my blogs but I cannot reply as your email is set as no reply and I have no way of contacting you, if you send me a message via my email address on my blog and leave me your email address I can answer some of your questions about blogging.

Stitching, designing and planning my garden in France.

The weather is beautiful today, the sun is shining and I am sat looking out into my garden planning where my roses are going to go, I can't wait to get them planted and watch them  bloom over the summer. I had quite a lot of roses in my english garden but here I have lots of space to make a beautiful rose garden with a real selection of my favourite roses.

Here are just a few of the roses I grew in England, I am hoping these varieties will flourish in France as they really are my favourite.

I have  been doing some cross stitch designing this week, a Valentine freebie and a new chalk board design called Time For Tea, apparently chalkboard cross stitch is the new craze at the moment, it is basically cross stitch on black fabric so I decided to put a little design together, more of that later.

Here is my latest freebie to stitch in time for Valentine's Day, Mini Cat meets Miss Mini and falls in love! Lol....

I thought I would make two versions to celebrate my move to France, one in English and the other in French,  you can get both patterns from my freebie page here

Chalkboard cross stitch pattern available in my Craftsy store here

Thankyou to everyone who left a comment on my giveaway for the scarf, I really appreciated your comments, unfortunately there can only be one winner, I really wish I could make something for everyone!

I placed all of the names into a hat and the winner is..................

Annemarie

This is the comment Annemarie made on my blog.

This is such a beautiful scarf. I am not a knitter and for this reason I would love to win a hand knit item. I have tried knitting but get no further than the basic knit and purl stitches. Crocheting is my passion but knitting scares me. My mother was a beautiful knitter - sure wish I would have taken lessons from her. I purchased a book several years ago - Teach Yourself to Knit - unfortunately it has not been used much - maybe one of these days I will overcome my knitting phobia!

I'm sure those roses will grow in your new garden, and I heard today that now is the ideal time to plant bare rooted rose bushes. Once established they will remind you of your "other" home too. Love the new minicat design. Might stitch it for my DH as it's our anniversary on 18th Feb. Thanks for all these mini cats!

Congratulations to Annemarie! Lynn, your Valentine mini cats are awesome and I like that you have the words in both languages - I may have to stitch both. :) Thank you again for another lovely design. I hope you find that roses will flourish at your new home in France and look forward to seeing your garden pix.

Lynn, I forgot to mention that I REALLY like your chalk board design - not sure if my ageing eyes would let me work on black but it's something to think about. :)

Lovely roses. I can almost smell them, and considering France is just about the exact opposite side of the globe from me, that is a pretty powerful scent. Thank you. I used to grow a lot of roses in San Diego, but here--they are deer candy.

Sweet little cross stitch for Valentine's too.

Oops I have missed a few messages.....
It is só great to read you are enjoying your new live in La Douce France! It must be great to sit at the fireplace and dream about all the things you can do now. Starting a new rosegarden must be great, I hope they will grow as good as in old England (but when you water them enough it must work I think ).
And decorating the rooms in the french house must be quit an experience also.
I am so happy for you everything is turning out great! (will you still be travelling around in the motorhome, or was that just for a short period whilst looking for houses?)
Greetings again
