I love this time of year, simply because I love the roses blooming in my garden, they are such beautiful flowers and are my absolute favourite flower.
This is one of my recent rose purchases and I was excited to see the first blooms, they are so beautiful, I could sit and look at them all day!
I am not so keen on the name of this rose but I simply could not resist the deep crimson blooms that are beautifully formed, I also like the repeat flowering habit as I wanted to cut them for displays inside my home.
You can see more detail about this rose on David Austin's website, this is not a sponsored post I simply love David Austin roses!
My next purchase this year was this gorgeous pink rose called The Generous Gardener.
The soft pale pink of this rose with its very delicate petals simply takes my breath away! I will take more photographs next week when they are in full bloom.
You can see more details here
I love how healthy the leaves look.
I can give a tip here, always water from the roots not over the leaves, I read that somewhere and it was the best tip for healthy roses.
I do have another rose named after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine and William but it has not flowered yet, the roses are white and will look beautiful in a floral display with my new collection of roses, can't wait!
My next little surprise this week was a glimpse of my home grown lettuce, I was so thrilled it looked so healthy, I have cut some as you can see but apparently it is called "cut and come again lettuce", you cut it and then it grows back!
I am looking forward to making a nice fresh salad with it this week.
I finished stitching July mini cat, I should get that finished into
a little pillow soon.
Here is a sneak peek at a mini cat cross stitch design I am currently working on, this will be a Craftsy exclusive available in my Craftsy store soon
You can now see this finished at this post
And finally........
remember I made a pretty pink shawl in a previous post, well, I decided to start another, this time in a beige sort of mink colour, it is nearly finished, I will post a photo when it is completed.
I hope you enjoyed your trip around my garden, until next time......
Happy Stitching!
