A box for my sister

Hi everyone, it was my sister's birthday this week so I decided to make this box as a keepsake gift.
We always joke that when we are very old and grey we will sit in our garden with wide brimmed hats and stitching on our knee and I decided this pattern fitted perfectly!
I made the box and trimmed the edges with white cord and used a swarovski crystal for a small catch on the front for ease of opening.
I lined the box with contrasting blue fabric, I did take a photo but it wasn't very clear.

My sister loved her gift.

I used a free pattern from the Red Brolly Blog, I am not sure if it is still available.

Until next time - happy stitching!

How lovely Lynn, beautiful stitchery and idea and love your box. This has given me an idea for my sister's birthday coming up in July. Not sure that I could make a box like that though. Your work is so perfect. Shirley
