Mini Quilt Swap and Shrink Plastic Gift Tags

Mini Quilt Swap 2014 Lynn B Hi Everyone, I am currently signed up for a mini quilt swap from Cherylls Blog over at Gone Stitching here this is the mini quilt I sent to my partner Sue over at The Jersey Scrapper Blog here

Sue sent me an email as soon as my mini quilt arrived and she said she was thrilled with her gift.

I stitched an embroidery by Jenny from  Elephantz Designs, it was part of her Rosedaisy Designs, I used the Tuesdaisy pattern but altered the sign to say Summer as it was a summer swap theme.
I also made these cute gift tags from shrink plastic, there is a mini tutorial  below showing how I made these.
This is the mini quilt, it measures about 12″ x 12″, on the top left is a little tag, it is made from  shrink plastic and I thought it looked nice stitched to the corner.
Here are the mini gift tags I made for Sue, the gift bag topper is available as  a free download below, I have made them in various colours.
The embroidery  is a quick stitch!
Mini tutorial for shrink plastic
I used shrink plastic sheets measuring 5″ high x 4″ wide
The scissor stamp measured 3″ x 3/4″, I managed to stamp three images on the sheet, they will shrink to about 1″ wide.
Punch a hole in the top left, this will shrink quite small but it will be large enough to thread ribbon through.

I baked them in my mini oven but you can use a heat gun, follow the instructions on the packet.
You need to use permanent ink, I smudged it a little by mistake! Lol…..
Write anything you like on your gift tag.
You can also make small buttons using shrink plastic, just play around.

As I said, they were a little smudged but you get the idea.

Decorate all of your hand made projects with these cute tags

This is the gift tag topper available as a free download below
Right click and save to your computer.
Cut out and fold on white line, place over top of small cellophane gift bag.
You can use these for any small gift that you make for a friend.
Best Wishes and Happy Stitching.
Lynn B

I enjoyed this post. Both projects are really nice. I think my crafty SIL and I will have to make the tags while on vacation. Jenny's designs are happy and adorable, so I need to stitch a couple in the near future.
