Quilted wall hanging, Santas Village progress and Valentine Cat finished.

Santa
I finally managed to stitch another house on Santa’s Village, only two more to go!

I must admit I will be happy when I have finished this, I intend to start stitching another this week and hopefully get it finished as soon as possible then I can get on with stitching other things.

Finishing seems to be the theme of this post as  I have also managed to complete a quilted wall hanging and the Valentine Cat freebie I wrote about in the previous post. I decided to make it into a scissor fob, well, I just loooove scissor fobs!  ( More photos below )
I wanted to practice making a quilted wall hanging because  I have signed up for three swaps that require me to make a 12″ x 12″ mini quilt and I needed to perfect my skills in this area as I did not want my partners disappointed.
I decided to make the mini quilt in this gorgeous blue fabric as it matches my craft room.
My needle has been busy this week, I have just completed two random acts of kindness that I will be sending out within the next two weeks, I will show them when the two ladies receive their surprise!

But for now here are my finishes this week……….

This is my first wall hanging, I made it for my craft room.
The pattern is a freebie from Kaaren Johnstons Painted Quilt blog , I talked about it in another post here.
Mini Quilt
I just looooove this pattern, it was so easy to stitch but very effective, don’t you think?

Great job on your Santa's village! I'm just a little, okay a LOT behind! And I think your wall hanging looks great. I don't think you have to worry about disapointing your swap partners.

I really like how you finished Kaaren's sampler!! Your Valentine cat is beautiful.
I made Kaaren's sampler and instead of the alphabet and numbers across the bottom I added our name and the year we were married …. hopefully some day a family member will consider it an heirloom and want it. 🙂

Hi Lynn! So very happy you found me. Your work is so beautiful. I recently got back into cross stitch – I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it. And I'm glad to know I somehow inspired you to give hexagons a try. They're fun, aren't they. 🙂
