Hi everyone, here is my latest progress on Santa's Village, I have started stitching the next house and then I only have two houses after that to finish. I am quite pleased with it, I showed it to my sister the other day and she loved it!
I have also been stitching another mug rug, I started to stitch this on Sunday as I wanted to enter it into a Pattern Review competition for holiday stitching.
I previously made this in traditional christmas colours but also wanted one to co-ordinate with my craft room. I have taken lots of photos for this so that you can see the work in progress.
I was also in a baking mood over the last few days so I decided to make some home made bread, it was worth it and so delicious! (photo below)
Home made bread
Apparently if it cracks on the surface it is because the dough dried out when proving, I forgot to oil the bag it was placed in for proving, but it tasted delicious all the same, and I also think it gave it some character!lol
Happy New Year everyone, thanyou for all of your comments and good wishes throughout the year.
Happy Stitching!

Lynn, I'm reading this very early in the morning and your loaf of bread has awakened my tummy and it looks deliciously crunchy (your bread, not my tummy). Your Christmas Village was a lot of work but is so lovely. I really like your Father Christmas mug rug - the blue is very nice. Yesterday I was putting away my Christmas items and noticed that I'd only put a label on one small quilt and I had used the method you showed ... hmm, not sure why I didn't do the same with everything. Have a wonderful 2014!
ReplyDeleteLove the mug rug, the back is just as neat as the front. Hope you had your cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteA Happy New Year to you!

Your Santa's Village is looking great, Lynn! I never got past the first one because I'm stitching them individually and not happy with the fabric I chose and the size it turned out to be. Maybe it will be something I work on in 2014.
ReplyDeleteLove the mug rug you're working on too. What kind of fabric are you using?
Happy 2014!

Dear Lynne,
ReplyDeleteYou do such beautiful work...I just love visiting your blog! I have a question...do you use "wonder-under" or any type of fusible interfacing on your pieces? I'm wondering about the edges...
