Hi everyone, I finally managed to finish off the paint touch ups after the fitter had finished the craft room, this is just one side, the other needs paint touch ups and tidying before I can show you, but I am getting there!
I loooove it, to be able to leave my stitching out and not have to clear away my sewing machine from the kitchen table is a real bonus, I feel totally spolit!
Thanks hubby for suggesting moving the kitchen and me getting a new craft room out of the renovations!
My new chair arrived this week, I wanted a pale grey to match the decor but the only available colour that matched in this design was white, I thought it would look too much but when it arrived I was quite pleased. The chair is so comfy and it fits perfectly under the worktop.
Obviously the room is not finished yet, I need to get some curtains to introduce more colour into the room, I have ordered swatches that should be arriving next week. The blinds were the ones I chose to match the cream walls, I was going to order white blinds but decided against that because I want the blinds to match all the other blinds on the outside of the house but I will probably not have the blinds down anyway, just when it is sunny outside.
I have posted more photos below.
British Craft Awards 2013 – I received an award!
This week I received a lovely email from a blogging friend (thankyou so much Tea) who informed me that she had seen my name in a cross stitching magazine for winning an award in the British Craft Awards 2013, I was so amazed as I had no idea I had won anything, apparently I had won Runner Up for the Best Blog of the Year. I contacted the magazine to ask them about it and they said yes I had won a certificate and I should have received an invite to the champagne reception at the NEC in Birmingham. It would have been wonderful to attend because celebrities from the crafting world were there, but alas I never got any letter!
The lady I spoke to has promised to send me my certificate and a copy of the magazine, I will post it on my blog when it arrives.
You can see the list of winners here together with a video of the day, you will see my name at the bottom of the Stitching list.
I would like to thank all the readers of these magazines who wrote in to vote for my blog, I am truly thrilled, thankyou!

Close up of the chair.
This is where I put my sewing machine when I am stitching.
You can read more about the red dress construction on my dressmaking blog here
Handy drawers with all my stitching things close at hand.
The opposite side of the room has all of my cross stitching and crafting supplies in the drawers, I will photograph them soon and reveal all the contents and I will compile a video when everything is finished.
I looooove this fabric, I purchased this a few days ago, it is 100% cotton, I will be making a summer dress out of this, it really is striking don’t you think?
Can’t wait to cut this out and get stitching.
If I complete this dress in time I may wear it for the village Horticultural Show in the Summer, I thought it was rather appropriate!
A few weeks ago I held a small giveaway on my blog, the gift has now been sent to the winner.
Until next time – Happy Stitching!
Best Wishes and Happy Stitching.
