Afternoon tea and Little House Neighbourhood progress

Hi everyone, I have had a lovely week this week, I finally got the chance to use my two tiered cake stand that my sister bought me for my 50th birthday last year, it is a very pretty design with flowers and butterflies on it and I absolutely love it.  I invited my sister one day and my friend on another day but basically made the same sandwiches  for both days. We had salmon and cucumber sandwiches, ham sandwiches, scones,  fondant fancy cakes and crunchie chocolate rocks and it was absolutely delicious!  Of course we had tea which gave me the excuse to use my favourite strawberry tea set and matching plates.
I bought some lovely white napkins and a matching table cloth for a crisp white finish as I do not think there is anything nicer than  a clean white tablecloth for afternoon tea, do you agree?
I sometimes think I may actually be brave and invite some blogging friends that live close to me - would anyone come? lol   That would be fun to have a stitching day with people I had never met before but had chatted to on line!   If I invited you what stitching piece would you bring to stitch on the day?
I just love these tiny dessert forks and the matching teaspoons.

And now for my stitching progress on Little House Needlework pattern The Little House Neighbourhood.

I just need to stitch around the door and the fence
I just love these patterns, they seem to grow so quickly.
I have a number of Little House Needlework designs in my stash that I have yet to stitch, I just love them!

Thankyou for all of your lovely comments and welcome to my new followers.

Happy stitching until next time.

  2. Lynn - Your afternoon tea and goodies looks delicious! There's nothing I like better than a good cup of tea (or coffee) in the afternoon. I'm partial to Apple Cinnamon tea or Honey Vanilla Chammomile. If I lived near you and were invited to an afternoon of tea stitching, I would most certainly accept the invitation! I would probably have to find a new smaller piece to start as my current WIP are all big one. I would like choose one of my new LHN pieces to bring.

Your Little House Neighborhood is shaping up nicely. I've completed LHN Acorn Hill and have added just a few other smaller patterns to my collection, but there are so many more that I want! LOL

  3. I just love your cake stand and would dearly love to come for afternoon tea, but as I live in Ireland I fear it maybe a tad too far. You are right the crisp white linen sets everything off just perfectly and nothing can or does match it. If I were to come for afternoon tea and stitching I think perhaps I would bring a small sampler. Nothing overly complictated so I could also concentrate on the tea and conversation that would no doubt flow.
You are making great progress on your LHN project and I can't wait to see more.

  8. Your tea party looks delightful, Lynn--delicious and so beautifully presented :)

Your LHN piece is really coming along nicely, too--there is just something so comforting about stitching little houses, isn't there?

  9. What a pretty tea set! Afternoon tea is wonderful and I would most certainly attend if we lived closer. And I had an invite of course!
One of the new starts I've been considering would be perfect for the occasion. It's called Ballade aux Fraises by Tournicoton. Stitching on it would always remind me of my visit and tea served with the straberry tea set!
I am loving your LHN. I have many of her designs as well and always find they are an enjoyable stitch.

  12. Afternoon tea looks absolutely delicious!

If there was someone around my part of the world who invited me I'd be there with bells on! And probably bring a monochrome design, since that would need the least amount of brainpower.

  20. Hi Lynn,

Oh my!! Just look at that spread! Finger
    sandwiches, mini cakes, chocolate crispy
treats, and of course scones with cream.
Bliss. I must say Lynn that if you put the
call out for stitchers to come to your house
for a feast like that you might get more
    then you bargained for.

Love your strawberry tea set and the wonder-
ful matching utensils. It's the perfect
setting for the weekend that Spring officially
    arrives ... at last!!

Your LHN Neighborhood is looking great so far.
I've got this one in my stash too and it's
such a wonderful design ... but then I'm
inclined to think that about all of LHN's
creations, and CCN as well. They really are
    lots of fun to stitch.

I've been exploring your blog and am in awe
over your incredible stitching and finish-
ing skills. You do such amazing work and
are so creative. It's very inspiring to
see and your tutorials are terrific as
well. Have you ever considered a tutorial
on making those fabric covered boxes??

    Your new stitching/craft room looks
like the perfect place to be either
creative in or to relax and dream in.

Any signs of Spring in England yet???

    Have a great week! Cheers

  21. Lovely tea, with a beautiful presentation. Your tea set is really pretty especially on the white tablecloth! Since I live in Kentucky, USA, I probably couldn't make it to your tea, but I would if I could. I would probably bring my L*K Christmas Spirit series to work on, because of the long flights, I really might get it done before Christmas - LOL!

  22. Your table looks delightful Lynn. Who wouldn't want to be invited to your house for tea?
Sadly it's a bit too far for me but if I did come I don't think I'd have time for stitching.
I'd far rather spend the time exploring your beautiful new craft room and looking at all of your stitched treasures.

  29. What a lovely tea party Lynn. A two tier cake plate would make any tea party complete and you certainly know how to fill yours with delicious goodies. They look almost too delicious to be real. They're not make of fimo are they! Only joking...haha :>)
Great progress on your LHN design. If i came to tea with you I would bring a companion piece to yours. It's the Jardin Prive design of the little houses which I am stitching at the moment.
