Little House Needlework, an exchange and my first hardanger piece.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and doing lots of lovely stitching!

I have been stitching a Little House Needlework design called Daisy Lane Cottage, I am also working on my first piece of Hardanger and I have an exchange to show you that I made for Margaret from A Sampler of Stitches blog here

Daisy Lane Cottage from Little House Needleworks.

Here is the exchange I made for Margaret, it is not the exact photo of the one I sent to Margaret, it is the one I made for Yana but I forgot to take photographs, although they are more or less exactly the same except for the polymer clay thread holder.
Margaret made me an absolutely beautiful exchange that you can see in the previous post.
Here is my first piece of hardanger, it is a work in progress at the moment, however  I am not too sure I like doing this type of stitching, I find it boring, I prefer to have some colour to work with and I found the stitches a bit repetitive.

Happy Stitching everyone, thanks for your visit!

  2. Your daisy cottage is so pretty! It looks like it would be a fun stitch.
Hardanger just wasn't my thing. I do love the look of it though. Yours is coming along nicely!

  3. Lovely stitching as always! I've never tried hardanger but I agree with the monochromatic thing. I need color for sure!

  6. Nice to see you posting Lynn! Lovely LHN wip. Love the soft muted colours. The hardanger is very pretty but I know what you mean. I am half way through a piece that includes it and I made a mistake and put it down and down it remains! x

  9. What beautiful work, the exchange piece you made is simply gorgeous.
Hardanger is quite repetitive, but I find the rhythm soothing.

  11. Could you tell me the name of the pattern for your Hardanger piece? I like Hardanger because of the mindlessness and because there's often very little finishing, particularly if the outside of the design is buttonhole stitch that one just cuts around.

I love looking at your projects and how you've finished them.

  14. Lovely stitching.
Hardanger is quite repetitive, but depending on how nontraditional you're willing to be you can add plenty of colour.

  15. Your LHN stitching is very sweet. Your Hardanger looks great...'specially for your first! You can add colors and I have done hardanger with overdyed too - there are so many stitches to learn!

  16. I think you hardanger piece looks lovely. It isn't my favourite type of stitching either, but it can really add nicely to a cross stitched piece, like in many of Victoria Samplers' designs. Will be you doing some cutwork on this piece too? I enjoy that, even if I do get worried about mistakes

Your exchange is stunning. You amaze me with how creative you are. You take a design and make it something stunningly beautiful.
Good luck with your first hardanger piece. I am just not that brave LOL.

What design are using for your hardanger? I've never tried it since it seems so intimidating!

I think your first attempt at it is gorgeous ;)
