Mothers day gift and redwork lady.

Hi everyone, I thought I would show you the Mother's day gift I have made.

My Mother loved the little Valentine bag here with the pin cushions so much that I decided to make it all again, but in her favourite colours of creams, coffee and gold. It is amazing how different it looks in a softer colour palette. I made the little bag just a bit larger than the last one, I embroidered the design free hand onto the front and made the little pillows and the bottlecap pincushion to go inside.

I have also finished my first attempt at redwork, this pattern was a freebie from here ( Needlecrafter website ) there are so many lovely emroidery designs to down load and trace for redwork or any embroidery project. I am unsure how I am going to finish this, I may make it into a quilted wall hanging but I need to buy some red fabric to complement the design.
I used a special disappearing ink pen  to trace the design but it disappeared to quick for my liking, so the next design I traced using a fine pencil.
All the blue marks have completely disappeared now.

OMG! You are so amazing! I just love that set you made for your mom! Just so beautiful! And your redwork is wonderful too! I'm so enjoying my bottlecap pincushion. It's just the right size for my workbox, so I'm using it all the time. Thank you again -- now when I see your mom's I know how wonderful it must be in person!

Your mother is going to absolutely love that set. It's so beautiful. I love what I won on your last giveaway. It's so pretty. My daughter was ready to take off with it when she saw me open the package!

I love your redwork too. I used to do quite a bit of it and used a fine pencil because that blue ink used to disappear so fast, especially in humid weather. I think a wall hanging or pillow would be beautiful for this. When my daughter was younger and got teenage tastes, I embroidered pillow shams for her in pink.

Oh What a lovely lovely gift for your mother. Are you interested in adopting another mother?
Redwork is fun. I did a quilt this winter called Postcards from Canada and it was all in Redwork. It was great fun.

Your mothers day gift is so lovely! Its made me want to do it for my future-mother-in-law! Perhaps when I find the materials needed.. the local Hobbycraft is far too expensive, and I just can't afford it right now.. But soon! :)

The redwork embroidery is also absolutely beautiful. I couldn't help but stare at it for a few minutes, and now my eyes are hating me for it.. Such wonderful work Lynn!

Another gorgeous set! This one looks so lovely done in those colours. Your mum is going to be so thrilled with her gift.
The redwork is beautiful also. I use an 01 brown or red pigma pen for Redwork. Works great for me.
