Heaven and Earth Designs and Christmas Ornament

I bought this pattern (Gothic Rose) in September 2008 and I have been contemplating starting it since then but other commitments prevented me from doing so. It is from Heaven and Earth Designs, they create fabulous cross stitch patterns and this is a Quick Stitch - only 8 sides!

I have purchased two others that are around 35 pages long but I thought It would be better to start with a simple one first!
The pattern advises 25 count fabric, however I have used 18 count Aida as I have seen the results on this fabric and it looks just as detailed, I really could not face stitching 1 over 1 on 25 count at the moment, I need to build myself up to that LOL!

I will post pictures within the next week of the other Heaven and Earth Patterns that I have purchased, be warned they are beautiful and very addictive.
Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED)have their own website here and they can be purchased here from the UK.

A close up of the pattern, there are 8 pages of stitching
to complete. My first six squares of stitching on 18 count Aida Angel Tree designed by Judy Whitman of JBW designs from the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine 0f 2008
Here is my first Christmas Ornament stitch of 2009, I just love the little plaits in their hair!
This was stitched on 32 count Cream Belfast Linen using DMC threads, it took longer to stitch than I first thought but it was a very enjoyable project.

You do find the outline gives you a better guide? Lovely choice! Your ornies are very nice, too!

Thankyou for the comments everyone, I really appreciate them.

Charlene: Yes I do feel that it is better to grid, however it is the first time I have tried it and for me it works!
